What is it?
A small, un-serviced and volunteer-run shed as a base for the free exchange of:

  • home grown produce
  • non-perishable and unopened food and other consumables 
  • school uniform
  • craft items
  • plants and seeds
  • other and larger items can be advertised on a noticeboard

What is it for?

  • Provide free home produce, non-perishable food / consumables and other items listed above to anyone who needs or can use it
  • Reduce food waste
  • Increase life of items and reduce resource use
  • Reduce items being thrown away and contributing to waste and pollution
  • Enable people to give away their surpluses and ‘pre-loved’ items to their community
  • Provide a local service for giving and taking 
  • Enhance community spirit through volunteering, social contact and shared purpose

How will it work?

  • Open all the time
  • Anyone can bring and take items
  • Checked and stock rotated as required
  • Noticeboard to advertise larger items
  • Contact details clearly displayed for further information, questions and to offer help
  • Information for on line donations for those able and willing to help support the project

How can I make a donation of goods?

  • Bring items along anytime
  • Place non-perishable items in a box outside or on top of the fridge or scan with the UVC wand found in the box on top of the fridge and place on shelves. 
  • Scan fridge items with a UVC wand and place inside.
  • Place non-food donations in the box on the right of the shed. (volunteers will sterilise and sort these)
  • Contact a named volunteer for collection if needed     
  • Submit a one off or regular donation to enable us to keep the larder topped up and pay for the general running expenses of RANK . For the moment, we welcome donations made by bank transfer. If you would like to help us in this way then please use our enquiry page to request our bank details.

Please help us keep the shed Covid-safe: Please wear a face covering and use the hand sanitiser provided. Volunteers check and clean the shed every day.
